Lucknow Residents Lose Over ₹14 Lakh in Green Gas Scam

Cyber fraudsters in Lucknow have defrauded three residents of over ₹14.73 lakh in just 48 hours by posing as Green Gas Ltd employees. The scammers sent malicious APK files via WhatsApp, claiming to update gas meters or bills. Upon downloading these files, victims' phones were hacked, leading to multiple bank transactions and significant financial losses. At least 36 FIRs have been registered in connection with this spreading scam, with police receiving 75 complaints so far. Authorities are cautioning the public against downloading unknown files and engaging with suspicious offers.

लखनऊ में साइबर ठगों ने ग्रीन गैस लिमिटेड के कर्मचारियों का रूप धरकर सिर्फ 48 घंटों में तीन निवासियों से ₹14.73 लाख से ज़्यादा की ठगी की है। ठगों ने गैस मीटर या बिल अपडेट करने के बहाने WhatsApp पर दुर्भावनापूर्ण APK फाइलें भेजीं। इन फाइलों को डाउनलोड करने पर पीड़ितों के फोन हैक हो गए, जिससे कई बैंक लेनदेन हुए और भारी वित्तीय नुकसान हुआ। इस बढ़ते स्कैम के संबंध में कम से कम 36 FIR दर्ज की गई हैं, और पुलिस को अब तक 75 शिकायतें मिली हैं। अधिकारी जनता को अज्ञात फाइलें डाउनलोड करने और संदिग्ध प्रस्तावों से जुड़ने के खिलाफ चेतावनी दे रहे हैं।
