Indian-origin US Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal expressed deep concern over reports of 13 crore voter names being removed from India's draft electoral rolls. She stated that these actions by the Indian government appear similar to efforts to undermine voting rights in democracies. Jayapal voiced support for non-violent protests against what she termed anti-democratic efforts in India. The Election Commission of India reported approximately 7.2 crore deletions in the first two phases and 6.16 crore in the ongoing third phase, while noting procedures for genuine voters to seek inclusion.

अमेरिकी सांसद भारत में 13 करोड़ मतदाताओं के नाम हटाने से चिंतित लोकतंत्र को कमजोर करने के प्रयासों जैसा बताया
