Dipke alleges he was denied his phone to contact his cousin and a lawyer, and questions why police asked him to call his father at 3:30 am. The police stated they offered Dipke help with travel and communication, but he refused. Dipke's mother had previously accused the police of lying about informing her son. The police maintain they acted on humanitarian grounds.

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) के संस्थापक अभिजित दिपके ने दिल्ली पुलिस के उन दावों को खारिज कर दिया है कि अपनी दादी के निधन की सूचना मिलने के बाद उन्होंने मदद लेने से इनकार कर दिया था। दिपके का आरोप है कि उन्हें अपने चचेरे भाई और एक वकील से संपर्क करने के लिए उनका फोन नहीं दिया गया, और उन्होंने सवाल किया कि पुलिस ने उनसे सुबह 3:30 बजे अपने पिता को फोन करने के लिए क्यों कहा। पुलिस ने कहा कि उन्होंने दिपके को यात्रा और संचार में मदद की पेशकश की थी, लेकिन उन्होंने मना कर दिया।
