लखनऊ में पटाखे बेचने वाले दुकानदार दो तरह का धंधा कर रहे हैं। वे नकली 'ग्रीन' पटाखे बेच रहे हैं जिन पर फर्जी क्यूआर कोड लगे हैं, और साथ ही चोरी-छिपे बैन किए गए तेज आवाज़ वाले पटाखे भी बेच रहे हैं। पुलिस ने सिर्फ ग्रीन पटाखे बेचने का आदेश दिया था, लेकिन ज़मीनी हकीकत कुछ और ही निकली। खरीदार नकली ग्रीन पटाखों के लिए 40% तक ज़्यादा पैसे दे रहे हैं, और दुकानदार भी अक्सर असली-नकली का फर्क नहीं जानते। कई क्यूआर कोड काम नहीं कर रहे या किसी और चीज़ पर जा रहे हैं, जिससे पता चलता है कि बाज़ार में मुनाफाखोरी और असली ग्रीन पटाखों की पहचान को लेकर अनभिज्ञता फैली हुई है।
