Brahmin Body Demands Representation In GVMC Elections

The Vizag Brahmin Welfare Society has expressed strong displeasure over political parties, particularly the NDA, for not allocating adequate corporator seats to the community in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) elections. The society president stated that despite the Brahmin community having over two lakh votes, they have been ignored by political parties. He highlighted the contributions of past leaders from the community and urged all parties, including the YSRCP, not to overlook the Brahmin community in future elections. The community seeks due representation in the civic body.

विशाखापत्तनम ब्राह्मण वेलफेयर सोसाइटी ने राजनीतिक दलों, खासकर NDA, द्वारा ग्रेटर विशाखापत्तनम म्युनिसिपल कॉर्पोरेशन (GVMC) चुनावों में समुदाय को पर्याप्त कॉर्पोरेटर सीटें आवंटित नहीं करने पर कड़ा असंतोष व्यक्त किया है। सोसाइटी के अध्यक्ष ने कहा कि दो लाख से अधिक वोट होने के बावजूद ब्राह्मण समुदाय को राजनीतिक दलों ने नजरअंदाज किया है। उन्होंने समुदाय के पिछले नेताओं के योगदान पर प्रकाश डाला और YSRCP सहित सभी दलों से भविष्य के चुनावों में ब्राह्मण समुदाय को नजरअंदाज न करने का आग्रह किया। समुदाय नागरिक निकाय में उचित प्रतिनिधित्व चाहता है।
