RBI to Trial Polymer Notes, Floats Global Tender

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is planning to introduce polymer currency notes, with its subsidiary, Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Private Limited (BRBNMPL), issuing a global tender for their production. This move aims to enhance the durability and security of banknotes. Polymer notes are known to last longer than traditional paper currency and are more resistant to counterfeiting.

भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक (RBI) जल्द ही प्लास्टिक के नोट लाने की सोच रहा है। इसके लिए, RBI की कंपनी BRBNMPL ने इन्हें बनाने के लिए दुनिया भर की कंपनियों से बोलियां मांगी हैं। ऐसा इसलिए किया जा रहा है ताकि नोट ज़्यादा टिकाऊ और नकली बनने से ज़्यादा सुरक्षित रहें। प्लास्टिक के नोट कागज़ के नोटों से ज़्यादा चलते हैं और इन्हें जाली बनाना भी मुश्किल होता है।
