Chennai experienced significant downpours, with MGR Nagar recording 15 cm in 24 hours ending Wednesday morning. This wet spell is expected to continue until October 26, 2026, due to a low-pressure area forming over the Bay of Bengal. Several other districts across the state also received moderate to heavy rainfall, indicating widespread impact.
