Police Bust Mule Account Racket, Recover Forged Councillor Seal; Five Arrested

Lucknow police have arrested five individuals involved in an organised network that allegedly opened and controlled multiple bank accounts using forged documents. The gang recruited people from rural areas, promising quick earnings and using fabricated identity papers to open accounts in their names. The accused retained control of ATM cards and internet banking credentials to transfer funds from cyber fraud victims. Investigators suspect a counterfeit municipal councillor’s seal was used to create forged address proofs for opening these "mule accounts" to move money across states.

लखनऊ पुलिस ने एक संगठित गिरोह में शामिल पांच लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया है, जो कथित तौर पर जाली दस्तावेज़ों का उपयोग करके कई बैंक खाते खोलते और नियंत्रित करते थे। गिरोह ने ग्रामीण इलाकों से लोगों को भर्ती किया, उन्हें त्वरित कमाई का लालच दिया और उनके नाम पर खाते खोलने के लिए फर्जी पहचान पत्र का इस्तेमाल किया। आरोपियों ने साइबर धोखाधड़ी के पीड़ितों से धन हस्तांतरित करने के लिए एटीएम कार्ड और इंटरनेट बैंकिंग क्रेडेंशियल्स पर नियंत्रण बनाए रखा।
