Hindustan Times · india
The Delhi High Court has granted seven-day custody parole to Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, chairman of Al Falah University, who is currently in custody for two money laundering cases. The parole is to allow him to care for his wife, who is undergoing chemotherapy for Stage-4 ovarian cancer. The Enforcement Directorate opposed the plea, citing serious allegations and Siddiqui being a flight risk, referencing his alleged involvement in the Red Fort car blast case. The court imposed stringent conditions, including remaining at home except for medical visits.
