Yemen's Houthi group has tightened its grip on the Red Sea coast, marking a significant escalation in the impoverished nation's conflict. This follows a period of relative calm since a UN-brokered ceasefire in 2022. The Houthis, an armed group from Yemen's Zaidi Shia minority, first seized control of the capital Sanaa in 2014, drawing Saudi military intervention.
