Centre Backs Andhra Pradesh's Semiconductor Push, Approves Rail Links for Nine Ports

The Union government has pledged support for Andhra Pradesh's ambition to become a global semiconductor hub, promising assistance for research, skill development, and AI initiatives. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw approved crucial railway connectivity for nine seaports to enhance freight movement. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu proposed several key railway projects, including a Vijayawada bypass and the Kovvur-Bhadrachalam line, seeking cost-sharing for the latter. Additionally, a Vande Bharat sleeper train will connect Visakhapatnam with Bengaluru via Tirupati.
