Kansas Rancher Earns Half Income From Wind Turbines

Kansas rancher Peter Ferrell now earns half his income from 50 wind turbines on his land, nearly two decades after the Elk River Wind Power project began. Initially sceptical, Ferrell was convinced by a fellow rancher and signed with Greenlight Energy Resources. The project, which powers 60,000 homes, has provided financial security, allowing him to pass the ranch to his children. He now advises other ranchers on wind power adoption.

कंसास के एक किसान पीटर फेरेल की आधी कमाई अब उनके खेत में लगे 50 पवन टर्बाइनों से होती है। एल्‍क रिवर विंड पावर प्रोजेक्ट शुरू हुए लगभग बीस साल हो गए हैं। पहले तो फेरेल को यकीन नहीं था, लेकिन दूसरे किसान की सलाह पर उन्होंने ग्रीनलाइट एनर्जी रिसोर्सेज के साथ समझौता कर लिया। यह प्रोजेक्ट 60,000 घरों को बिजली देता है और इसने उन्हें आर्थिक सुरक्षा दी है, जिससे वे अपनी विरासत बच्चों को सौंप पा रहे हैं।
