India's startup funding experienced a modest 5% year-on-year increase in Q3 2026, reaching $2.2 billion, though the number of deals dropped by 13%. Despite the overall cautious investment climate, two new unicorns emerged, and the AI and cleantech sectors attracted significant capital. Venture deployment heavily favoured Series A and B rounds, while early-stage funding saw fewer but larger investments. Bengaluru continued its dominance as the top startup hub, securing over $1.4 billion.
