Gambhir Credits Chase's Spell For India's T20I Loss To West Indies

Business Standard · sports

India head coach Gautam Gambhir attributed the T20I defeat against West Indies to Roston Chase's impactful bowling spell in the middle overs. Chase's disciplined bowling restricted India's scoring rate after a strong start, ultimately allowing the West Indies to chase a record total of 249. Gambhir acknowledged the need for India to improve their ability to defend large scores, despite posting a formidable 249/5. He also noted that dropped catches and the opposition's exceptional batting were factors in the loss, emphasizing that the team has significant work ahead.
