Orange Seller's Dedication Leads To School For Village Children

TV9 Hindi · good-news

Harekal Hajabba, an orange seller from Mangaluru, was deeply affected by his inability to communicate in English with a foreign couple. This experience fueled his determination to prevent other children in his village from facing similar helplessness. He began by persuading villagers to send their children to a local mosque's madrasa in 1999, initially gathering 28 students. Hajabba personally contributed financially and physically, even sweeping floors and boiling water for the children. He persistently advocated for a proper government school and land with local authorities.
