They argued that nearly 30 years of mowing, gardening, and holding yard sales granted them ownership through adverse possession. However, the Tennessee Court of Appeals upheld a lower court's ruling in favor of the developer, Developed by Design, LLC. The court found the couple's actions were insufficient to meet the legal requirements for establishing ownership. The dispute began when the couple objected to the developer's work near their property.
