Cyclone Arnab Batters South Odisha, Uprooting Trees and Causing Widespread Rain

Cyclone Arnab has made landfall in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, causing widespread rain and affecting 17 districts across Odisha, with southern regions like Gajapati, Ganjam, Koraput, and Rayagada bearing the brunt. While no loss of life has been reported, the cyclone uprooted trees and electric poles, damaged rural roads, and caused waterlogging in several areas. Heavy rainfall was recorded in districts like Gajapati and Ganjam, with winds reaching up to 80 kmph in parts of Gajapati. Power supply restoration is underway for a significant number of affected consumers.

चक्रवात अर्नाब आंध्र प्रदेश से टकराया है, जिससे ओडिशा के 17 जिलों में भारी बारिश हो रही है। गजपति, गंजाम, कोरापुट और रायगड़ा जैसे दक्षिणी जिलों में इसका सबसे ज़्यादा असर देखा गया है। हालांकि, किसी के हताहत होने की खबर नहीं है। चक्रवात की वजह से कई पेड़ और बिजली के खंभे उखड़ गए हैं, ग्रामीण सड़कें खराब हो गई हैं और कई जगहों पर जलभराव हो गया है। गजपति और गंजाम जैसे जिलों में भारी बारिश दर्ज की गई, जबकि गजपति के कुछ हिस्सों में हवा की रफ्तार 80 किमी प्रति घंटा तक पहुंच गई। प्रभावित उपभोक्ताओं के लिए बिजली आपूर्ति बहाल करने का काम चल रहा है।
