Israel's Arab Parties Can Form Government, But Why Is No One Seeking Support?

BBC Hindi · politics

Israeli political parties largely avoid relying on Arab parties for support due to fears of electoral damage, differing national identity and security policies, and a historical tendency to politically isolate Arab citizens' representatives. While some Jewish opposition leaders support cooperation, and an Arab party joined the government in 2021, the core issue is political legitimacy. The question remains whether Jewish-led parties will accept Arab parties as legitimate partners in governing, not just as elected members of parliament.
