RBI Sold $6 Billion To Defend Rupee

The Reserve Bank of India sold $6.1 billion in foreign exchange during May to defend the Indian rupee. This significant intervention was prompted by surging oil prices, which had driven the rupee to a record low. Alongside these sales, the central bank also implemented policy measures aimed at encouraging dollar inflows into India.

भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक ने मई में भारतीय रुपये को बचाने के लिए 6.1 अरब डॉलर की विदेशी मुद्रा बेची। तेल की बढ़ती कीमतों के कारण रुपया रिकॉर्ड निचले स्तर पर पहुँच गया था, जिसके चलते यह बड़ा कदम उठाया गया। इसके साथ ही, केंद्रीय बैंक ने भारत में डॉलर के प्रवाह को बढ़ाने के लिए नीतियां भी लागू कीं।
