Israel to Close West Bank Crossings Amid Hebron Lockdown

Israel will close all land crossings with the occupied West Bank on election day next week, barring Palestinian workers from entering most areas from Sunday through Monday. This follows a "full lockdown" imposed on Hebron after two Palestinian gunmen killed two Israeli soldiers. Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed approximately 2,000 people were displaced from their homes in Hebron. The Palestinian Authority condemned the actions as "collective punishment" and called for international pressure.
