Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test After 10 Years, 5.65 Lakh Candidates To Appear
Times of India · education
After a decade-long hiatus, Jharkhand Academic Council will conduct the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET). Nearly 5.65 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the exam at 986 centres across the state. The examination is crucial for filling thousands of vacant assistant teacher posts in government schools, with around 39,000 positions currently unfilled. The state hopes this test will accelerate teacher recruitment and address the significant shortage, with results anticipated within two months. This marks the first JTET since 2016, conducted under newly framed rules.
