They had invested their life savings into opening 'And Bodega' just three months prior. The cafe was severely damaged on October 12 when the adjacent tobacco shop was firebombed, with further theft of equipment occurring the next day. The couple is now crowdfunding to repair and replace equipment and cover outstanding costs, as their insurance payout is insufficient for rebuilding.
