Days before his retirement, former Air Chief Marshal AP Singh wrote to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh requesting that the Indian Air Force retain control over its sports complex land. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs is seeking to reclaim the approximately 40-acre sports complex within the Race Course Air Force Station. This move has caused controversy within defence circles and led to the cancellation of the outgoing chief's farewell golf event. The station also plays a crucial role in administrative support and countering drone threats.
