Mumbai Police Denies CJP Protest Permit

Mumbai Police has denied permission to the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) for a protest planned at Shivaji Park, demanding the resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar. The police cited a 2013 Bombay High Court order and subsequent government directives, stating Shivaji Park is a silence zone and they lack the authority to grant such permissions. CJP founder Abhijit Dipke announced that if permission is not granted, they will launch a 'Jail Bharo Andolan' on Gandhi Jayanti.

मुंबई पुलिस ने कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (CJP) को शिवाजी पार्क में होने वाले विरोध प्रदर्शन की इजाज़त देने से मना कर दिया है। CJP, सीईसी ज्ञानेश कुमार के इस्तीफे की मांग कर रही थी। पुलिस ने बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट के 2013 के एक आदेश और बाद के सरकारी निर्देशों का हवाला दिया, जिसमें कहा गया है कि शिवाजी पार्क एक साइलेंस ज़ोन है और ऐसी इजाज़त देने का अधिकार उनके पास नहीं है। CJP के संस्थापक अभिजीत दीपके ने घोषणा की है कि अगर इजाज़त नहीं मिली तो वे गांधी जयंती पर 'जेल भरो आंदोलन' शुरू करेंगे।
