Veteran actor Nana Patekar, who passed away at 75 from cardiac arrest, had spoken candidly about his views on death and his funeral arrangements three years ago. He had stated he had gathered 12 maunds of wood for his cremation, emphasizing its dryness to avoid smoke that could mislead mourners into thinking they were crying for him. Patekar also expressed a desire to be completely forgotten after his death, requesting no photographs be displayed. He had also wished for his last rites to be performed at his Pune farmhouse.
