Taxpayer Gets ITAT Chance To Prove

A Haryana taxpayer who declared Rs 1.79 lakh income and Rs 3 lakh agricultural income faced an Rs 11.22 crore income addition due to large cash deposits and unsecured loans. The Income Tax Department flagged substantial cash deposits of Rs 85.93 lakh during demonetisation and unsecured loans of Rs 9.25 crore. The taxpayer failed to provide supporting documents, leading to the addition.

हरियाणा के एक टैक्सपेयर ने 1.79 लाख रुपये की आमदनी और 3 लाख रुपये की खेती से आमदनी बताई थी। लेकिन, बड़े कैश जमा और बिना गारंटी वाले लोन के कारण उसकी आमदनी में 11.22 करोड़ रुपये जोड़ दिए गए। इनकम टैक्स डिपार्टमेंट ने नोटबंदी के दौरान 85.93 लाख रुपये के बड़े कैश जमा और 9.25 करोड़ रुपये के लोन पर सवाल उठाए। टैक्सपेयर ज़रूरी कागज़ात नहीं दिखा पाया, इसलिए यह बढ़ोतरी हुई।
