Shruti Haasan reveals she initially wanted to work behind the camera, not act

Actress Shruti Haasan shared at the India Today Conclave South 2026 that acting was not her initial career plan. She aspired to work behind the scenes, focusing on writing and music. Her entry into films happened unexpectedly when a role in her first Hindi movie, 'Luck' (2009), changed her trajectory. Haasan mentioned that seeing herself on screen after 'Luck' made her realize the importance of seriously learning the craft of acting.
