Bengal's 27 Watershed Projects Benefit Over 2.2 Lakh Farmers

West Bengal is implementing 27 watershed projects under the centrally sponsored WDC-PMKSY 2.0 scheme across six western districts. These projects directly benefit 2,29,418 farmers over approximately 1.3 lakh hectares, with a total cost of Rs 350.6 crore. The state has completed 510 farm ponds and numerous water harvesting structures. Building on this success, the state has proposed expanding the scheme to four additional districts under the upcoming WDC-PMKSY 3.0 phase.

पश्चिम बंगाल की 27 वाटरशेड परियोजनाओं से 2.2 लाख से ज़्यादा किसानों को फ़ायदा

पश्चिम बंगाल छह पश्चिमी जिलों में केंद्र प्रायोजित WDC-PMKSY 2.0 योजना के तहत 27 वाटरशेड परियोजनाओं को लागू कर रहा है। ये परियोजनाएँ लगभग 1.3 लाख हेक्टेयर में 2,29,418 किसानों को सीधे तौर पर लाभान्वित कर रही हैं, जिनकी कुल लागत 350.6 करोड़ रुपये है। राज्य ने 510 फार्म तालाब और कई जल संचयन संरचनाएँ पूरी की हैं। इस सफलता के आधार पर, राज्य ने आगामी WDC-PMKSY 3.0 चरण के तहत चार अतिरिक्त जिलों में योजना का विस्तार करने का प्रस्ताव दिया है।
