Mumbai Mandal Reuses Fibre Ganesh Idol Annually

The 65-year-old Sutargalli 1 Ganesh mandal in Mumbai has decided to stop immersing its 40 ft tall idol. Instead, they have created a reusable fibre idol that can be dismantled and folded for reuse annually. On Anant Chaturdashi, they will perform a symbolic visarjan with milk at Girgaum Chowpatty and bring the idol back. This initiative aims to set an example amidst changing immersion guidelines and environmental concerns.
