Times of India · politics

CJP member Ratna Singh has responded to BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra's 'flop show' comment on an anti-CEC protest in Delhi. Singh questioned the heavy security and detentions, stating Delhi was turned into a fortress. She urged authorities to allow protesters to assemble at Jantar Mantar, their designated site, and respect the fundamental right to protest. Patra had earlier dismissed the demonstration as not reflecting the country's mood and called the protesters 'anarchist elements'. Separately, Singh has approached a Delhi court seeking an FIR against police for alleged wrongful confinement.
