Contract workers at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) and their families will now receive health insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh. This decision, approved at a meeting in Mangaluru, is expected to benefit over 2,000 workers, enhancing their access to healthcare and financial security. The demand for this insurance had been pending for eight years. The meeting also approved separate toilets and restrooms for women contract workers, improving workplace infrastructure and conditions. This initiative marks a significant step towards addressing long-standing issues faced by MRPL's contract workforce.

मंगलौर रिफाइनरी एंड पेट्रोकेमिकल्स लिमिटेड (एमआरपीएल) के ठेका मजदूरों और उनके परिवारों को अब 5 लाख रुपये का स्वास्थ्य बीमा कवर मिलेगा। मंगलुरु में हुई एक बैठक में इस फैसले को मंजूरी दी गई, जिससे 2,000 से अधिक मजदूरों को फायदा होने की उम्मीद है, जिससे स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं तक उनकी पहुंच और वित्तीय सुरक्षा बढ़ेगी। इस बीमा की मांग आठ साल से लंबित थी। बैठक में महिला ठेका मजदूरों के लिए अलग शौचालय और विश्राम कक्षों को भी मंजूरी दी गई, जिससे कार्यस्थल के बुनियादी ढांचे और स्थितियों में सुधार हुआ है। यह पहल एमआरपीएल के ठेका श्रमिकों द्वारा सामना की जाने वाली लंबे समय से चली आ रही समस्याओं को दूर करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।
