Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar require approximately 22,000 additional hotel rooms to accommodate the 2029 World Police and Fire Games and the 2030 Commonwealth Games. A CEPT University study estimates the twin cities currently have 18,000 rooms but need nearly 40,000 for these major sporting events. The existing infrastructure includes 3,694 rooms in 22 five-star hotels and 141 Airbnb properties. The study suggests public-private partnerships and innovative financing to bridge the significant gaps in hospitality and MICE venues.
