The Kerala Forest department will capture and translocate two problematic wild elephants, 'Chakkakompan' and 'Murivali', from Chinnakkanal in Idukki. This decision follows the fatal trampling of a tribal farmer, Vijayan, marking the second death in the area within a week. Forest Minister Shibu Baby John has directed immediate action to address the escalating human-wildlife conflict. The operation will commence once trained captive elephants return from deployment elsewhere.
