Gauhati HC Orders Centre, Assam Govt to Trace Woman Expelled to Bangladesh

The Gauhati High Court has directed the Ministry of External Affairs and the Assam government to trace a woman declared a foreigner and expelled to Bangladesh in June. The court was informed that an inquiry into the tribunal's opinion date is concluded, and the report is being filed. The bench ordered an affidavit to be filed before the next hearing on November 6. The woman, Mumtaz Begum, was arrested after appearing before a tribunal and subsequently expelled without a chance to challenge the opinion.
