Standard Chartered Bank has consolidated its disparate payment systems into a single platform, largely built by its engineering teams in India. This transformation, led by Group COO Tanuj Kapilashrami, aims to reduce operational risks and improve customer experiences across its 50+ markets. The move allows for faster introduction of new technologies and helps the bank compete with agile fintechs. India accounts for approximately 40% of Standard Chartered's global workforce, with significant operations in Bengaluru and Chennai.
