Telangana HC Upholds ED Summons, Refuses Protection From Coercive Action
Times of India · india
The Telangana High Court has upheld the ED authority to issue summons under Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The court rejected a plea by a city-based construction business couple, Paruchuri Kumar and Pokala Pallavi, to quash the notices and refused them protection from coercive action. The court found no illegality in the ED's notices, noting that the underlying CBI case involved scheduled offences under the PMLA.
