बीजेपी नेता और रिटायर्ड पुलिस अधिकारी भास्कर राव ने केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय को चिट्ठी लिखकर यूट्यूबर ध्रुव राठी की नागरिकता और वीज़ा स्थिति की जांच की मांग की है। यह कदम राठी के बेंगलुरु में एक विरोध प्रदर्शन में भाग लेने के बाद उठाया गया है। राव का दावा है कि राठी जर्मन नागरिक हैं और सवाल उठाया है कि क्या कोई विदेशी नागरिक भारत में राजनीतिक प्रदर्शनों में कानूनी रूप से भाग ले सकता है। चिट्ठी में विदेशियों के अधिनियम, वीज़ा शर्तों और आप्रवासन नियमों के संभावित उल्लंघनों का भी सुझाव दिया गया है, और किसी भी गलत काम पाए जाने पर सख्त कानूनी कार्रवाई का आग्रह किया गया है।
