Farmers Stage Mock Funeral Protest Over Sugarcane Prices

Farmers in Haveri intensified their sugarcane price agitation by staging a mock funeral procession towards Hubballi, protesting against Union minister Prahlad Joshi. Shirahatti Fakir Dingaleshwar Swamiji criticized the Centre, stating it has no intention of ensuring justice for farmers and alleged discrimination against South Indian growers. He pointed to the Centre's alleged preference for North Indian farmers in ethanol purchases, claiming only 20% is bought from the South. Swamiji urged farmers to continue their protest until justice is secured and asked political parties to stay away from the movement.

हावेरी में किसानों ने केंद्रीय मंत्री प्रहलाद जोशी के खिलाफ विरोध जताते हुए हुबली की ओर एक दिखावटी अंतिम संस्कार यात्रा निकालकर गन्ने की कीमत के आंदोलन को तेज कर दिया। शिराहट्टी फकीर डिंगलेश्वर स्वामीजी ने केंद्र की आलोचना करते हुए कहा कि किसानों को न्याय दिलाने का उसका कोई इरादा नहीं है और उन्होंने दक्षिण भारतीय किसानों के साथ भेदभाव का आरोप लगाया। उन्होंने केंद्र द्वारा कथित तौर पर उत्तर भारतीय किसानों को इथेनॉल खरीद में प्राथमिकता देने का जिक्र किया और दावा किया कि दक्षिण से केवल 20% खरीदा जाता है। स्वामीजी ने किसानों से न्याय मिलने तक अपना विरोध जारी रखने का आग्रह किया और राजनीतिक दलों से आंदोलन से दूर रहने को कहा।
