कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (CJP) 2 अक्टूबर को मुंबई में मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार के इस्तीफे की मांग को लेकर विरोध प्रदर्शन करने की योजना बना रही है। CJP नेता अभिजीत दीपके ने कुमार के खिलाफ आपराधिक कार्यवाही शुरू करने, स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीजन पर रोक लगाने और चुनाव आयोग में सुधार की भी मांग की है। ये मांगें चुनाव आयोग (ECI) के भीतर कथित मतभेदों की रिपोर्टों के बीच आई हैं। CJP का आरोप है कि ECI देश के हित में काम नहीं कर रहा है। मुंबई पुलिस ने भीड़ प्रबंधन और यातायात संबंधी चिंताओं के कारण शिवाजी पार्क में विरोध प्रदर्शन की अनुमति देने से इनकार कर दिया है।
