MP HC Disposes Ujjain Masjid Appeals After Agreement

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has disposed of two appeals concerning the Shahi Masjid case. This decision followed an agreement reached between the Muslim petitioners and the Ujjain civic body. The appeals were related to development work in Ujjain, which had led to heightened tensions and clashes between protesters and police. Sporadic protests and stone-pelting were reported near the Shahi Masjid Complex after a portion of the mosque was demolished for a road-widening project. These infrastructure projects are part of preparations for the 2028 Simhastha Kumbh Mela.
