Singapore experienced unhealthy air quality on Tuesday, with smoke from Indonesian wildfires causing islandwide pollution not seen since September 2019. All five regions recorded unhealthy levels, placing Singapore among the world's 10 most polluted cities. Hotspots in Indonesia are higher than normal this year, exacerbated by El Nino causing drier conditions. The haze is expected to persist, posing a continued health risk across the region.
