NHAI Bars Builder For Three Years Over Expressway

NHAI has banned PNC Infratech from bidding on its projects for three years due to major defects in the Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway. The expressway, also known as Awadh expressway, experienced premature failures shortly after its inauguration, attributed to design flaws and the use of weak soil. Tolling on the entire expressway has been suspended, with the concessionaire facing daily compensation of approximately Rs 42 lakh for lost.

एनएचएआई ने कानपुर-लखनऊ एक्सप्रेसवे में बड़ी खामियों के कारण पीएनसी इन्फ्राटेक पर तीन साल के लिए बोली लगाने पर रोक लगा दी है। अवध एक्सप्रेसवे के नाम से मशहूर इस सड़क का उद्घाटन के कुछ समय बाद ही डिज़ाइन की गड़बड़ियों और कमजोर मिट्टी के इस्तेमाल से खराब होना शुरू हो गया था। पूरे एक्सप्रेसवे पर टोल वसूली बंद कर दी गई है, और ठेकेदार को हुए नुकसान के लिए हर दिन करीब 42 लाख रुपये का हर्जाना देना पड़ रहा है।
