HC Orders Haryana Varsity To Release Family Pension To Unmarried Woman

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed an appeal by a Rohtak university, ordering it to release family pension to an unmarried woman. The court observed that financial assistance received after her brother's death could not be a ground to deny her family pension after her father's passing. The bench upheld a previous judgment declaring university letters treating the pension as inadmissible as null and void. Outstanding benefits must be released with simple interest at 6% per annum from November 2016 within two months, or face 9% interest.

पंजाब और हरियाणा हाई कोर्ट ने रोहतक की एक यूनिवर्सिटी की अपील खारिज कर दी है। कोर्ट ने यूनिवर्सिटी को एक अविवाहित महिला को पारिवारिक पेंशन देने का आदेश दिया है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि भाई की मौत के बाद मिली आर्थिक मदद, पिता की मौत के बाद पारिवारिक पेंशन रोकने का आधार नहीं हो सकती। कोर्ट ने यूनिवर्सिटी के उन पत्रों को रद्द कर दिया था जिनमें पेंशन को अमान्य बताया गया था। नवंबर 2016 से 6% साधारण ब्याज के साथ बकाया राशि दो महीने में दी जाए, वरना 9% ब्याज लगेगा।
