Delhi-NCR Air Quality Dips to 'Very Poor', GRAP Stage II Curbs Imposed

Hindustan Times · environment

Delhi-NCR has entered the 'very poor' air quality category for the first time this season, prompting the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to invoke Stage II of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) with immediate effect. This decision follows an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 324 on November 2, with unfavorable weather expected to persist. Measures under GRAP Stage II include intensified dust and vehicular pollution control, stricter industrial inspections, and a ban on coal/firewood in eateries. Citizens are advised to use public transport and maintain vehicles.
