Times of India · health
A survey of 884 players in Taiwan suggests that gaming with people you know and trust may reduce problematic gaming habits. Researchers investigated the social environment within games, finding that familiarity with fellow players correlated with lower reports of gaming addiction. While playing in larger groups increased game loyalty and recommendations, knowing companions in real life was specifically linked to less addictive play. The study aimed to understand how social dynamics influence player behaviour beyond just screen time.
