A 30-foot-tall effigy of a cockroach will be burned alongside traditional figures of Ravan, Kumbhkaran, and Meghnad at a Ramleela event in Delhi's Pitampura. The Shree Keshav Ramleela Committee stated the effigy symbolizes filth and dirt, aligning with the 'Swachh Bharat' and 'Swachh Delhi' campaigns. Committee president Ashok Goel clarified the decision was not politically motivated, aiming to reinforce the message of good triumphing over evil and promoting cleanliness. The cockroach will be depicted as part of Ravan's army, further integrating the cleanliness message into the Ramleela narrative.

दिल्ली के पीतमपुरा में एक रामलीला कार्यक्रम में पारंपरिक रावण, कुंभकरण और मेघनाद के पुतलों के साथ 30 फुट ऊंचे कॉकरोच का पुतला जलाया जाएगा। श्री केशव रामलीला समिति ने कहा कि यह पुतला 'स्वच्छ भारत' और 'स्वच्छ दिल्ली' अभियानों के अनुरूप गंदगी और मैल का प्रतीक है। समिति के अध्यक्ष अशोक गोयल ने स्पष्ट किया कि यह निर्णय राजनीतिक रूप से प्रेरित नहीं था, बल्कि इसका उद्देश्य बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत के संदेश को मजबूत करना और स्वच्छता को बढ़ावा देना था। कॉकरोच को रावण की सेना के हिस्से के रूप में दर्शाया जाएगा, जिससे रामलीला की कहानी में स्वच्छता का संदेश और एकीकृत हो जाएगा।
