A system called Bhungroo, developed in Gujarat, helps farmers store excess monsoon rain underground for use during dry summer months. This method addresses the dual problems of waterlogging during heavy rains and water scarcity for irrigation later. The system filters excess rainwater and directs it through pipes deep into the ground, storing it in aquifers. Farmers can then pump this water back up for irrigation, effectively turning their fields into seasonal water.

गुजरात में विकसित 'भूँगरू' नाम की एक तकनीक किसानों को मानसून की ज़्यादा बारिश को ज़मीन के नीचे जमा करने में मदद करती है। इस पानी का इस्तेमाल गर्मी के सूखे महीनों में किया जा सकता है। यह तरीका भारी बारिश में जलभराव और बाद में सिंचाई के लिए पानी की कमी, दोनों समस्याओं का हल करता है। यह तकनीक बारिश के अतिरिक्त पानी को छानकर पाइपों के ज़रिए ज़मीन में गहराई तक पहुंचाती है, जहाँ यह एक्वीफर्स में जमा हो जाता है।
