Cabinet Approves ₹9,889 Crore Railway Lines In Andhra

The Union Cabinet has approved the construction of third and fourth railway lines between Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, at an estimated cost of ₹9,889 crore. This 198-km project aims to ease congestion on a busy rail corridor currently operating at 130% capacity. It will enhance connectivity to major ports and tourist destinations, boost freight traffic by 29.04 million tonnes annually, and generate 135 lakh employment opportunities.

कैबिनेट ने आंध्र प्रदेश में राजमुंदरी और विशाखापत्तनम के बीच तीसरी और चौथी रेलवे लाइन बनाने को मंजूरी दे दी है। इस पर करीब ₹9,889 करोड़ खर्च होंगे। 198 किलोमीटर लंबी इस लाइन से व्यस्त रेल मार्ग पर भीड़ कम होगी, जो अभी 130% क्षमता पर चल रहा है। इससे बंदरगाहों और पर्यटन स्थलों तक आवाजाही बढ़ेगी, माल ढुलाई में सालाना 29.04 मिलियन टन की वृद्धि होगी और 135 लाख रोजगार के अवसर पैदा होंगे।
