A depression over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into Cyclone Arnab by Monday morning. The cyclone is projected to make landfall on the Andhra Pradesh coast by the evening of October 28, or possibly earlier. Its approach will bring rain to Kolkata and southern Bengal districts starting Tuesday, with heavy rainfall anticipated in some areas between October 28 and 30. The Regional Meteorological Centre has warned of squally winds along the Bengal coast and potential damage to crops.
