The Hindu · india
The Telangana government has approved the continuation of its Comprehensive Integrated Township Policy for an additional five years. Initially announced in November 2020, the policy aims to foster sustainable development by creating self-contained townships beyond the Outer Ring Road. These integrated townships will combine workplaces, housing, commercial spaces, and institutional facilities, promoting a 'Walk to Work' concept. The policy also emphasizes inclusive housing for economically weaker sections and mandates mechanisms for township maintenance, while offering developers concessions like fee waivers to encourage private investment.
